The 1100 is not one to be left out in the conversation

5G is supposed to unveil in India soon enough, most probably this very year. So in case you are planning to purchase a new smartphone soon, you should consider getting a phone which supports 5G because it’s going to be quite a huge thing. There are many 5G smartphones that have released in the Indian smartphone market at all price points be it budget or flagship.

While the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 seems to have hogged all the limelight from MediaTek’s recent announcement, the Dimensity 1100 is not that far behind when it comes to the chipset’s performance. In fact, the two chipsets have a great deal in common. This processor has been launched alongside the Dimensity 1200 and is more or less similar apart from having a slightly lesser frequency at 2.6GHz.

Like the Dimensity 1200, the Dimensity 1100 also comes with full 5G support, has eight cores among which there are four Arm Cortex-A78 cores that have great performance scores. It comes with a 6nm design which is key in achieving supreme power-efficiency. It is also fueled by enormous storage space and uber-fast memory. Also, it supports 108MP photos and comes with a faster than lightning Night Shot mode which is 20% faster than before.

Talking about the GPU performance, it a bit lower than the Dimensity 1200 and its camera sensors have a slightly lower APU performance along with a lower maximum refresh rate in terms of the display at 144Hz. The Dimensity 1200 SoC, on the other hand, supports FHD+ resolution on a 168Hz refresh rate display. These new Dimensity chipsets come after the release of the Dimensity 100)+ and gives us some updates features at a flagship level. They come with a significant upgrade from the 7nm process employed in the Dimensity 1000+ in the form of 6nm.

When you put both the new chipsets side by side, you can see their differences. Let’s see here: Both the 1100 and the 1200 feature an octa-core SoC, albeit with slight differences. The 1200 features a ‘prime’ Cortex-A78 core clocked up to 3GHz, while the other three performance cores are Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.6GHz. The Dimensity 1100 features four of these performance cores, instead of a 1x prime + 3x performance setup. The other four cores on both of these SoCs are Cortex-A55 clocked at up to 2.0GHz.

On the GPU end, both come with a nine core ARM Mali-G77 GPU, supporting MediaTek’s HyperEngine 3.0 gaming technologies. It supports AR apps and super hotspot power savings. The best thing is that the Dimensity 1200 has an excellent refresh rate of 168Hz at FHD+ resolution, while the Dimensity 1100 also has a great refresh rate at 144Hz at FHD+ resolution as well.

For the gamers out there, rejoice! Because the dimensity 1100 comes with the much looked-forward-to HyperEngine 3.0 which is sure to give gamers an incredible gaming experience. The ultra-fast 144Hz refresh rate will make games load faster and make scrolling and animations smoother. The Dimensity 1100 processor sure does seem promising. The Dimensity 100 chipset can handle multitasking with low-latency, power efficiency, and power saving. Its APU uses 10x lower power than GPU while making sure that graphics remain free for other tasks.
