Is Covid Ending in June 2021?

News about this virus’s demise is easily the most thought about question in everyone’s minds. Now I don’t think that the virus will ‘die’ anytime soon but the infections can greatly reduce by June end. At least that’s what the scientists say.

India’s top Covid-19 modelers have projected a fall of 93% in average daily infections by June-end with the pandemic’s second wave expected to hit the rock bottom by August 31. The predictions are along similar lines as those made by the Singapore University, which recently studied 131 nations, projecting that India would be relatively free of the current Covid burden by the later part of June.

Coming to the stats, the single day rise in coronavirus cases in India fell below the 2-lakh mark for the second time this month taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,75,55,457, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. A total of 1,86,364 new coronavirus infections were reported in a day, the lowest in around 44 days, while the death toll climbed to 3,18,895 with 3,660 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am today showed.
