This chipset appears to be energy efficient, power saving, and reliable

Here’s some facts about the Dimensity 720 chipset:

  • This chip comes with MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave. What this does is optimize the modem usage to react only when needed, which results in minimizing power usage.
  • With the assistance of MiraVision, a display enhancing technology, it adjusts a variety of display factors such as contrast, colour, sharpness, brightness, depending upon what is playing on the screen or at the time of the day.
  • The Dimensity 720 chip supports up to 64MP cameras with a range of frameworks such as macro or ultra-wide lenses.
  • Unlike the usual 6Hz display, the 720 offers 90Hz which is quite noticeable in terms of smoother transitions, fluid text, and seamless scrolling.
  • Virtual assistants like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant can be integrated into the design where the Dimensity 720 can be on the lookout for trigger words or phrases to summon them.
  • Last, but not least, the Dimensity 720 uses the latest 7nm production process, a cutting-edge fabrication technology that helps in the integration of all the components and brilliant power efficiency.

The 7nm chipset is the first in the Taiwanese brand’s Dimensity 700 series, and it too will target mid-tier 5G smartphones. In terms of specific 5G capabilities, the Dimensity 720 brings support for SA and NSA networks, as well as sub-6Ghz connectivity. This new connectivity standard also tends to consume plenty of battery power in comparison to 4G, but the company maintains that it uses the MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology that I mentioned earlier, to drastically reduce power consumption.
