Mediatek Dimensity 8000 Chipset Review by Pro-Tech Village
Today, we will talk about the latest launch by Mediatek. On 1st March 2022, Mediatek launched 3 smartphone processors in the Dimensity series. As we all know, all Dimensity chipsets are 5G, and the same is the case with these chipsets. The three processors launched are — Mediatek Dimensity 1300, Mediatek Dimensity 8000, and Mediatek Dimensity 8100. Here are going to talk about the Mediatek Dimensity 8000, its specifications, its power, and upcoming smartphones in which we can see this chipset.
The Mediatek Dimensity 8000 is made on the 5nm fabrication process by TSMC. Lower the fabrication process, higher the efficiency of the chipset. This means Dimensity 8000 is going to be an energy-efficient processor and users would not experience frequent heating issues.
If we talk about the CPU performance, Mediatek Dimensity 8000 has a 64bit octa-core CPU processor. This means Mediatek Dimensity provides 8 different cores for task distribution and multitasking. 4 of these are performance cores(Arm Cortext A78), with 2.75GHz top speed, and the other 4 are efficiency cores(Arm Cortex A55), with 2.0GHz speed.
Talking about the Graphics Processing Unit, we have Mali G610 MC6 GPU. It has 6 cores and is also built on a 5nm fabrication process. The strong GPU is going to deliver great gaming performance and amazing graphics-related tasks like editing and rendering.
Talking about RAM support, we get a quad-channel LPDDR 5 (3200MHz) and 4x (2133MHz) RAM support. The RAM size is not clear but we can assume that RAM size may be around 24GB. Additionally, we get storage support of all storage types from EMMC 5.1 to UFS 3.1.
For camera support, we get Mediatek’s ImagIQ 780 ISP which is a 14bit dual ISP. It can process dual-camera streams in HDR quality. It can also support 2x lossless zoom. It has a 32MP + 32MP dual-camera support and a 200MP single camera support. For video, we get a 4K video recording support at 60fps, FHD+ recording support at 240fps, and HD+ record support at 960 fps.
For display, Mediatek Dimensity 8000 provides FHD+ support at 168Hz refresh rates. This makes the display support great and gaming is also enhanced because of the high refresh rates.
All these traits make this Mediatek Dimensity 8000 chipset excellent for gaming, multimedia, and overall performance. It is not officially announced which smartphones will have this chipset, but Oppo might launch a smartphone in its K series with Mediatek Dimensity 800 chipset. But in the near future, I can see many smartphones using the Mediatek Dimensity 8000 chipset due to its quality and cost-effectiveness.
