Mediatek’s Helio series has been praised ever since the commencement of this range. This range of smartphone processors has been able to deliver never seen before power to budget smartphones. One of Mediatek’s most impressive budget processors is the Mediatek Helio G35. This processor has been integrated into numerous smartphones and has been praised for its efficiency and smoothness.

Recently, Mediatek has launched a successor to this Helio processor, the Mediatek Helio G37 chipset. By the specifications of this chipset, it also seems like a very high-performing device under a nominal cost. Let us compare the two smartphone processors to understand the valuable upgrades of the Mediatek Helio G37 processor.

Structure — Both of these smartphone processors have the exact same structure. Both of them are built on an octa-core structure, with 8 A-53 cores, where four of these cores are clocked at 2.3GHz and the other four are clocked at 1.8GHz. Also, both of them are built on a 12nm fabrication process.

GPU — Both these processors have a PowerVR 8320 GE GPU. This GPU is a pretty efficient and capable one, as it has handled numerous smartphones effectively in the past.

Hyper Engine — Mediatek Helio G35 processor supports the Hyper Engine technology for better gaming and connectivity, whereas Mediatek Helio G37 supports Hyper Engine 2.0 Lite, which is an upgraded version of the former gaming engine. The connectivity feature in the Mediatek Helio G37 smartphone processor is also very nice.

Display — Both these chipsets support an FHD+ display, but the Mediatek Helio G37 processor supports the fast refresh rates of 90Hz. This is a valuable addition to the processor, as high refresh rates help in a smoother user experience.

Memory — Memory specifications define the limit of processors. The Mediatek Helio G35 processor has the maximum RAM support of 6GB, whereas it has been increased in the Mediatek Helio G37 smartphone to 8GB. Both processors support LPDDR 3 and LPDDR 4X RAM. EMMC 5.1 and all earlier storage types are supported by both these processors.

Camera — Both these cameras also have similar support. Both of them support a single camera of 25MP along with dual cameras of 13MP + 13MP.

As it can be seen, the Mediatek Helio G37 smartphone has some valuable additions that make this smartphone processor a very capable one. The display, gaming, and connectivity features have seen some advancements, that have added more value to the smartphone.
