Motorola is back in the smartphone game. At least this is what it seems like for the 2023. With motorola launching phones one after the other on a roll this year, it is making waves again in the Indian smartphone market sphere. Motorola’s latest new entrant is finally here in India, Motorola Edge 40, hitting the Indian smartphone market. With a bit of its sneak peek being launched on Flipkart, people can finally have a fair share of idea of what to expect from this mid-range ranger phone.The smartphone has been launched as the successor to Motorola Edge 30.
The Motorola Edge 40 is the brand’s latest offering in mid-range phones which are quite known to be within the budget. Motorola fans were quite excited by this announcement. The fans are eagerly awaiting for its launch both offline and online.
Motorola has declared officially on its website too that the pre-orders of the phone will begin on May 23rd 2023 and will go on sale via Flipkart online and retail outlets from May 30th 2023. Earlier this month, the phone was previously unveiled in select parts of Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific markets.
It is speculated that the Indian smartphone markets will only see the debut of the base Motorola Edge 40 variant for now. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 which also finally makes its debut in India finally.

Shipped with a large 4400 mAh battery, it has 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging support. It is said to be available in a single storage configuration of 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage.
With an immersive display, it is seen to be flaunting a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) pOLED display panel. A refresh rate of 144Hz, it comes with a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The display with curved 3D glass also sports an anti-fingerprint coating and is framed by sandblasted aluminum bezels.
The phone is touted to be world’s slimmest IP68-rated 5G phone which offers to withstand exposure to dust, sand, dirt, and submersion in water.
It comes with vegan leather finish weighing 171 grams and measures 158.43mm x 71.99mm x 7.58mm in size. Meanwhile, the matte acrylic finish Lunar Blue variant of the phone weighs 167 grams and measures 158.43mm x 71.99mm x 7.49mm in size.
There is good news for camera enthusiasts too as Motorola Edge 40 boasts impressive camera enhancements. The dual rear camera includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support and a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide lens for macro vision while the 32-megapixel front camera sensor is housed within the center-aligned hole-punch slot at the top of the display.
Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor which finally makes its debut in India, it has an Octa-core CPU consisting of Arm Cortex-A78 and Arm Cortex-A55, and a powerful nine-core GPU which allows one just sit back and enjoy gaming experiences with HDR and reliably fast FPS in top titles.
The Motorola Edge 40 would offer some best in class features. The phone is expected to be priced at Rs. 29,999 on Flipkart and will be available in three colour variants- Coronet Blue, Jet Black, and Reseda Green.
