The Mumbai police’s crime branch has made significant progress in the investigation of the recent shooting incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence. On Tuesday, an official revealed that two pistols, along with magazines and bullets, were recovered from the Tapi river in Gujarat during a search operation aimed at retrieving the weapons allegedly used in the firing.

The incident, which occurred on April 14, involved two bike-borne assailants who fired shots outside Salman Khan’s house in the Bandra area of Mumbai. The suspects, identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, allegedly fled the scene after the shooting. However, through meticulous investigative work and technical surveillance, the Mumbai police, in collaboration with the Kutch police, apprehended the accused on April 16 from Mata No Madh near Bhuj town in Gujarat.

Following their arrest, Gupta and Pal provided crucial information during interrogation, revealing that they disposed of the weapons into the Tapi river while fleeing to Bhuj in a train from Surat. The recovery of two pistols, three magazines, and 13 bullets from the river underscores the dedication and efficiency of the law enforcement agencies involved in the case.

The recovered weapons will undergo forensic examination to establish their connection to the shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s residence. Additionally, the Mumbai police have declared gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi as “wanted accused” in connection with the case. Gupta and Pal reportedly received instructions from the Bishnoi brothers, further complicating the investigation.

Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in the Sabarmati central prison in Gujarat for another case, is known for his involvement in various criminal activities. His brother, Anmol Bishnoi, is believed to be residing in Canada or the US, adding an international dimension to the case.

The recovery of the weapons from the Tapi river marks a crucial breakthrough in the investigation, shedding light on the perpetrators and their motives behind the shooting incident. The Mumbai police’s crime branch, led by senior police inspector Daya Nayak, continues to work diligently to piece together the events leading up to the shooting and apprehend all individuals involved.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges posed by criminal elements in society and the importance of swift and effective law enforcement measures. As the investigation unfolds, the authorities remain committed to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining public safety and security.

The recovery of weapons from the Tapi River represents a significant development in the case surrounding the shooting outside Salman Khan’s residence. It highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and underscores the importance of thorough investigative procedures in addressing criminal activities.
