I think it’s safe to say that Realme is one Indian smartphone brand that has relentlessly been launching 5G phones one after the other in an attempt to capture the Indian smartphone market. I’m not complaining though! This time they have beaten their own record by releasing a 5G smartphone that cost Rs. 14,999, making it the cheapest 5G smartphone in India.

Let’s look at some of the specs:

Display: It has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The bezel-less punch-hole setup of the smartphone delivers a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels alongside 405ppi pixel density.

Camera: There is a Triple-camera setup (48MP + 2MP + 2MP) at the rear. There is an 8MP selfie camera as well.

Processor: The Realme 8 5G comes loaded with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor which is backed by a 8GB RAM.

Battery: It has a non-replaceable 5,000 mAh Li-ion battery inside which is also compatible with 18W Fast Charging.

Storage: It features a massive 128GB internal storage, which you can extend up to 1TB.

Connectivity: 5G & 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Mobile Hotspot, A-GPS, Glonass, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v5.0, USB charging.

Realme had released the 4G version of the Realme 8 quite recently and is now out with a 5G version of the phone, with a mediatek dimensity 700 processor. As far as I’ve seen, the Realme 8 5G gives a seamless user experience throughout, especially while gaming. For photographers too, Realme has placed great camera options on the front and the back, which are quite impressive.

My only complaint is that it could have some with an OLED display instead of LCD. Otherwise, the Realme 8 5G seems to offer capable performance with good cameras and impressive charging.
