I remember as a kid, I used to sit with my mom and my granny in our tv room and watch all the Ekta Kapoor serials starting from “Kyun ki Saas Bhi Khabi Bahu Thi” to “Kasauti Zindagi ki”. And I always had this habit of discussing over the same episode the next morning with my classmates at school and it was intense. Sometimes when I think about it, I laughed my wits out but it’s all down to memories now. As a child, nobody likes to be a part of the bad guy side and it was so popular in Hindi serials to have at least one Vamp that ruins and bring those unnecessary dramas over a family feud or lovers. Without it, I don’t think it would have been successful and of course, the storyline would have been a boring blunt one.

Until my childhood, I would be so mad and annoyed with the fact of having a vamp or someone negative in the serials causing chaos and never appreciated the role of it. I would be cursing the director or the story writer as to why bring such character and spoil everything.

But today let’s look back into time and appreciate every kind of Komolika that nailed the role of a Vamp.

Ramola Sikand from Kahin kisi Roz

I used to be so afraid of her character. Her strict face and big revolting eyes with big bindi made me think she was into some black magic or something. I remember every time her role comes in, suddenly the sky turns black and just thunder and lightning everywhere. She wanted to murder her daughter-in-law in the serial but eventually, she was got at the end. She was very stylish and had a unique style of her own.

Komalika from “Kasauti Zindagi ki”

Oh, I remember her fashion standards, where she brought in the unique style of wearing sarees and fashionable blouses. Though her mind was wicked. She wanted to conquer the Basu empire. but now I think that she did a fantastic job in her acting skills.

Dr.Simran from Sanjeevani

She was scary as hell. She had traits of being a crazy lady and go to the extent of doing foul stuff to people. All her life she kept plotting her plans against her husband’s ex-girlfriend. How free was she??.

There were many more ladies who played amazing roles in Indian Television and they brought a revolution to their roles on point. Ekta Kapoor wouldn’t have been Ekta Kapoor without these ladies. So hats off to all the ladies who played a Vamp in any movies or television and still managed to steal hearts.
