The Weeknd is easily one of the biggest stars of our generation, and after listening through the stack of albums he’s blessed fans with, it feels like he can do no wrong. The Weeknd is on the track to legendary status. He took the stage during Super Bowl LV for the Pepsi Halftime Show, which pretty much catapults any performer into serious levels of superstardom.

5. “earned it,” from beauty behind the madness

Were you a fan of this song before or after seeing Fifty Shades of Grey? TBH, it doesn’t matter either way — “Earned It” easily stands out as one of Abel’s best hits, if not one of the greatest hits of its entire decade.

4. “call out my name,” from my dear, melancholy

If you’re going through a breakup, this is the song you should turn to for a good cry. We should all formally thank Bella Hadid for placing Abel in his feels long enough for him to create this masterpiece.

3. “can’t feel my face,” from beauty behind the madness

Who knew a song about doing cocaine could be so…dare I say addictive? Before you try to come for me with any alternative meanings to the song, please know that Abel confirmed it himself in “Reminder,” where he quite literally said, “I just won a new award for a kids’ show / Talking ’bout a face numbing off a bag of blow.”

2. “blinding lights,” from after hours

After Hours may have been ridiculously snubbed by the 2021 Grammys, but this song absolutely dominated the charts and received widespread critical acclaim in 2020. Not only did it peak at number one in 34 countries, but according to Billboard, it also spent a whopping 44 weeks in the top 10 on the Hot 100 List and 35 weeks in the chart’s top 5.

  1. “save your tears”, from after hours

Nothing to say about this one except that it’s BRILLIANT.
