The YRF Spy Universe
We have been introduced to a shared cinematic universe by Hollywood a long time ago, but the Indian film industry can also be seen following the steps, as we are witnessing the creation of several cinematic universes. A KGF universe is being created, with Salaar coming out in 2024 starring Prabhas. Rohit Shetty’s cop universe has also been expanded with movies like Sooryavanshi and Simbaa. One universe that I am expecting to do the best in India is the YRF Cinematic Universe. More than a decade ago, YRF created Ek Thha Tiger with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The movie was a huge hit! 5 years later, the duo came back with Tiger Zinda Hai. This was an even bigger hit.
Years after the release of TZH, YRF came up with an idea to create a shared cinematic universe, when they made WAR, a completely different movie that was set in the same world. Now, stakes are higher than ever, as SRK’s almighty return in Pathaan is close, and Pathaan is also been announced as a part of the YRF’s Spy Universe. Salman Khan will appear as Tiger in Pathaan. The favour will be returned by SRK, when Pathaan will also appear in Tiger 3 that is being released in 2023. This isn’t it, Hritik’s character Kabir will also be making an appearance in Tiger 3.
Salman Khan recently revealed that if all goes well, him and SRK will make a movie together. A few months ago, YRF Spy Universe’s wikipedia page stated that another movie starring Akshay Kumar is being developed, after which, a multi-starrer movie like Avengers with Akshay, Salman, Hritik, Shahrukh, Katrina, Deepika, and many more will be made! Sounds exciting, right?
This universe also has amazing an amazing list of villains. Pathaan will see John Abraham as the antagonist, while Tiger 3 will have Emraan Hashmi as the main villain. War had Tiger Shroff as the villain. These 3 guys can come together for their own villainous movie like the Suicide Squad to create dhamaka on the box office. Till now, we know that Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone are the female counterparts who are in this universe. It is even being said that Katrina will get a spin off movie of her own.
I think all these developments are amazing, and since we are witnessing a major dip in the quality and popularity of Bollywood movies, I think the YRF Spy Universe will bring back the charm of Bollywood! What do you think? Comment down below.
