Vivo has been giving some really tough competition to its counterparts in the range of entry-level devices. Talking about another entry-level smartphone, Vivo has launched a new device in its Y series.
The Vivo Y16 is a 4G smartphone that comes at a price of Rs 9,999, and was released in India on 1st September. The smartphone comes with some interesting features, and I feel it might be one of the best choices under Rs 10,000. Let us check out all features in detail.
Design — The design of the smartphone is minimalistic. There is nothing fancy, but the simple but shiny design looks premium. On the front, it has a waterdrop notch that you would expect, but it does not look bad to be honest. The bezels are also slim.
Display — The display quality seems pretty average at the first look. It has an IPS LCD screen panel with HD+ support. The smartphone also carries 60Hz refresh rates. But when you actually use the smartphone, you would realise that the colors are pretty vivid and the brightness is also good. I am happy with the display, and even after being of HD+ quality, I do not think it lacks anything.
Performance — Performance is one of the biggest plus points of the Vivo Y16 smartphone. It comes with a Mediatek Helio P35 processor, and the processor surprisingly has high speed. It has two cores of 2.4GHz and six cores of 1.8GHz, The smartphone processor also has a high degree of efficiency. At this price, Helio P35 processor has the best performance out of all the chipsets present. Also, it is accompanied by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU, that works well in the area of graphics.
Camera — The camera quality could have been better in my opinion. Vivo Y16 comes with a dual 13MP plus 2MP camera on the rear end. I think the camera setup should have been enhanced by providing a better primary and a more useful secondary camera. The front camera is 5MP, and works decently.
Battery — Vivo Y16 comes with a 5000mAh standard battery. However, the smartphone lasts longer on a single charge than you would expect, because of the efficiency of the screen and the Mediatek processor.
