The Realme 8 entered the Indian smartphone market last week. At first glance, it seems like a pretty solid smartphone with a vibrant display, a good MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, a reliable 5,000 mAh battery along with fast charging, a bold design, a clean software and of course, a good primary camera. The design might seem a little bold for some but I feel like it distinguishes the phone from all the others out there which fall into a similar price segment. All things considered, the Realme 8 seems like one of the best smartphones under 15K.

Right now, the Realme 8 4G is selling at a discounted price of Rs.14,999 for the 4GB variant. The 5G version of this phone is rumoured to come equipped with the Dimensity 800U chipset. What I really liked about the 4G variant is its cool design which gives me sci-fi vibes. The design is quite interesting to look at, especially the glossy mirror-like finish. I found the internal specifications to be pretty good as well.

The Realme 8 has some differences in specifications compared to the Pro variant. It features the same display with a hole-punch cutout. Under the hood, the Realme 8 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 SoC and Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot. For photos and videos, the Realme 8 has a quad rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens. The other three sensors are the same as the Realme 8 Pro. The phone also has the same selfie camera as the Pro variant.

All in all, I’ll say that the Realme 8 appears to have a solid set of features that make it an attractive smartphone in the budget segment.
