What Makes F.R.I.E.N.D.S one of the Most Loved Shows?
It’s been more than one and a half-decade since one of the most favourite shows ended and yet we still somehow live with the show by re-watching the episodes again and again. Currently, there are a bunch of new shows that have been aired however, in my opinion, none of those shows could ever relate to the audience or even be loved by the viewers as much as F.R.I.E.N.D.S has. Why is that so? Are you one of those who still happen to browse for shows to watch and you just end up going back to watching an episode or two or maybe even the entire season of F.R.I.E.N.D.S because why not?
It is known as the best sitcom ever, simply because it is filled with hilarious and relatable jokes or comedy and its very homey. The show follows the lives of six different characters and their relationships with each other and others. FRIENDS actually made a place in everyone’s heart and not only that it made such an incredible benchmark in Hollywood. I know there are people who do not like the show, although I still don’t understand how is that possible? The show revolves around a bunch of characters and it is a difficult thing to believe that you cannot relate to even one of them? Anyhow, moving on, there are an ample number of reasons that makes this one of the most loved shows ever.
First and foremost would be its related storyline and all the more related characters
Like I mentioned before, the show revolves around 6 characters and each character has unique qualities ranging from Phoebe’s timeless songs such as Smelly Cat, Ross’s bad luck-struck love life, Chandler’s sarcastic jokes, Joey’s charming stupidity, Rachel’s passion for fashion, and Monica’s obsessive-compulsive disorder, her passion for love and also her “fun” games during parties. It’s not uncommon to see people/viewers relate to these characters at some point or the other.
For the Theme Song
The theme song of F.R.I.E.N.D.S has to be one of the most loved theme songs of a show. And also the way they have shot it. It has nothing but all the 6 characters playing around a fountain. It’s so addictive that sometimes your brain might start humming the song for no reason and you won’t even know it for hours.
The Show was Way Ahead of its Time
If you look at the storyline of the show, you would see that the show was definitely way ahead of its time. For example, showing gay marriage when it wasn’t even that much of an accepted notion by many. The idea of surrogacy where Phoebe carries her brother’s children, age-gap relationships portraying Monica and Richard, single mothers when Rachel decided to raise Emma all by herself and many others.
